Merry Christmas

It's just two days until Christmas and I'm all set to give some money away again. This time, I've chosen Michelle T. from Porland, Ore. She said she'd like a nice Christmas gift for herself.

I admire her straightforward request. Michelle will receive $20 in cash for her request!

Another beautiful day!

It's the start of the skiing season here and I decided to go snowboarding with a friend last night. It was great! I fell more than I stayed upright, but it was still a blast. I'm so sore!

To celebrate my happy winter mood, I'm giving $31 (the cost of a half day lift ticket at some resorts around here) to Tony P. of Denver, Col.

Tony said he'd like to go skiing but it's very expensive.

Tony, I hope that $31 helps!

The weather is getting colder, but hopefully some free money will help you feel warm

It is starting to get chilly at night here in Ohio. Summer is truly over and fall is beginning to show signs of its appearance - tree leaves are changing color, my garden is beginning to look a bit tired, and even though we're still seeing sunny days, the air has a definite chill to it.

To make myself feel a little warmer today, I'd like to mail out $40 to Mike from Perth, Australia. I believe it is spring time in Australia and he can begin looking forward to the warm days of summer, which I'm sure are just around the corner.

Mike said he'd use his money to buy groceries. Mike, please enjoy your gift and the warmer weather that is sure to come!

Was in Maryland for several days, but now I'm back home and will give away more free money

I traveled to the Atlantic coast of Maryland last Thursday and spent several days seeing the sites and enjoying the last moments of summer weather. If you ever get a chance, I'd suggest stopping at Assateague Island near Ocean City, Md. This combination of a state park and National Seashore is absolutely lovely, especially the population of wild horses, as well as deer, birds and marine life.

Now that I'm back home and back to work, I'd like to give away some money this week. Since I just visited Maryland and had such a nice time, I've selected Selena from Maryland to receive $100 to use to put a payment down on a used car she'd like to purchase.

I can't say how much I appreciate the hundreds of emails I've received since starting this site just a few weeks ago. Your words of encouragement are wonderful. It is this kind of positive response that encourages me to continue to give away money to those who want or need it.

I plan to send more money to someone this weekend. Check back to get the latests updates.

Back from the Labor Day weekend. Ready to give away more money.

Well, I was pretty much unavailable all weekend. Here in the U.S., we get a day off of work each to celebrate what's known as "Labor Day." It's a holiday to honor America's working men and women. And to celebrate, many of us use the day to catch up on work around the house, in the yard and even in the office. It's strange how we use our holiday to do more work, isn't it?

Anywhoo, I'm back at the computer and ready to give away some cash. I've received dozens of emails and will read each of them and respond to those who will receive money. In the meantime, I'm sending $5.00 to Albert, who lives near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He didn't say what the money is intended for. He just was honest ... he wanted to request $5.00 to see if the site was for real. Well Albert, it's real. So is the $5.00 U.S. that you'll get in about 7 to 10 days in the mail.

Thanks!

Gave away $20 yesterday

Things are rolling along nicely here. Another work week is almost over and most of us here in the U.S. have a 3-day weekend, since we have off Monday for the Labor Day holiday.

I'm going to take some time this weekend to relax. I'm also going to devote some time to making improvements to the Giving Away Free Money site, add content, and make this blog look a little more seamless with the rest of the site.

I decided to give away a little more cash yesterday, and may give away more money this weekend too. It was just $20 but it will be used to help buy a birthday gift for a deserving child.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'll talk to you again soon, and will keep handing out the dollars as long as you keep writing.

If you'd like to ask for money, just email me and let me know what you need.

The requests for free money come rolling in (Day 4)

Well, just three days into this project and suddenly my e-mail box was full of interesting requests from people around the world yesterday. It was a little overwhelming. So if I don't answer everyone all at once, please forgive me. It will take a little time to carefully consider each request, organize them, and then decide which ones to select.

I can tell this is going to be very, very interesting and fun for all of us.

Since I have the chance, I'll share some thoughts and advice that will probably help with your requests.

I received various requests yesterday. Some were for smaller amounts like $50 or $100. Others were for very large amounts, like $10,000 or $20,000.

I understand that some folks' needs are greater than others, and I'll definitely work to help them out. But in order to help the greatest number of people, I can fill more of the smaller requests than the larger ones. Is it possible I could send you $10,000? Yes. But it's much more likely that I'd be able to send you $100 to help with your utility bills or to get a new suit for an interview than for me to fund the purchase of your new home or car.

So carefully consider your request. You've got a much better chance of having your wish fulfilled with smaller requests. Plus remember, you can always come back and ask for more 30 days later.

I gave away free money yesterday!

I got a request yesterday afternoon from Mike in California. He asked for some money to buy books for school (college).

He shared that he plans to get a degree in mechanical engineering, and books and materials for this subject get expensive.

While I didn't offer to pay for all of his books, I did offer him $10 toward his needs, which he graciously accepted.

If nothing else, he'll be able to use it for pizza while studying or hanging out.

Usually, I will send gifts via check or money order, especially if they're larger than $20. But this time I opted to mail cash.

I hope to share more stories like this with you soon!

Day 2 - All quiet. Headed to work.

Contrary to popular belief, this site is not my full time occupation.

I have to leave for work in about 10 minutes. Another glorious Monday. I think it may be raining outside, although I haven't looked closely yet.

For now, the money pile remains full and waiting for requests.

I hope everyone has a great day, and I'll check back for requests this afternoon.

Day 1 - My money is here for the taking

cashSo today the website has launched. I'm not sure if there's another site out there that gives away free money, but I'm hoping this idea catches on.

If you want money, all you have to do is ask.

And so I, and the money, wait.
